If you are not offered a place.
There are far fewer beds than applicants, so most people who apply will not get one. It is not a judgement on your situation. What you do get is the whole working, so you can see exactly where you stood and check it yourself.
One morning, then a deadline
Your marks and your answer arrive together.
On Wednesday morning you see your score and, if you are offered a place, the offer itself. You then have a week, until Wednesday 26 August, to take that place by joining the resident WhatsApp group.

Offers now go out with the results, on Wednesday morning, instead of 48 hours later. We had promised the opposite, and the reason we gave was a good one, so here is why it changed. The 48 hour gap existed to catch a misread document or a mistyped figure before any bed was given away. That check has now been run over every one of the 283 applications, by published rule and in both directions, before a single mark was published. Making everybody wait two more days to re run a check already run costs them more than it protects them. You can still report a misread figure, and the deadline for that has not moved.

Your marks are not emailed and they are not on this page. They sit behind your matric number and your identity card number, because the only safe way to show somebody their own household figures is to ask for something only they have rather than let anyone type in a name.
Nothing you type is stored. The results file is encrypted record by record and the key to each one is that person's own two numbers, so nobody holding the file can read a line of it without knowing both numbers for the person they are looking for.

Your total and your six criterion marks appear on the results page, opened with your matric number and your identity card number. Results are not emailed. The distribution of marks on both lists is published, along with the cut off for each. If you are above the cut off on your list, your offer is on that same page and the clock on it starts here.
Friday 21 August, 11:00 AM
The last moment to tell us a figure was read wrongly, and we publish how many people did and how many were right. This window is short on purpose. A correction we uphold is seated from the reserve list, and somebody on that list should not be left waiting a week to find out whether a place exists.

The deadline to take a place. Taking it means joining the resident WhatsApp group, and the link sits on your own result. A full week, because taking a place means committing to RM170 a month and most people need to talk to their family first. An offer nobody has joined for by this moment goes to the next person on the list.
What happens if we got your score wrong
There are two bad ways to handle a mistake found after offers are out. One is to take a place back from somebody who has already told their family they got in. The other is to tell the person we shortchanged that it is too late. We are not doing either. A correction we uphold is seated from the reserve list, which is the same list that catches declines, and no offer already made is withdrawn.
That is the whole reason we can publish the cut off and the offers on the same morning. The cut off we publish is the real one, with no places quietly held below it, because the reserve is not beds held back from this session's fifty. It is who gets called when a bed comes free.

Which band of the distribution your score fell in, so a mark of 44 means something rather than floating on its own. The full distribution for both lists is published openly. No names, no other applicant's figures, and no ranking of individuals.

Your letter, made out in your name
If you are offered a place, or put on the reserve list, your letter is on that same page. It carries your name, your matric number, your marks and what you owe, ready to print or save as a PDF. The tenancy agreement you sign at check in is published alongside it, so you can read it before you answer rather than on the day.

48 hours to report a data entry error
You have until 11:00 AM on Friday 21 August to tell us that a figure was entered or read wrongly. Send the criterion, the figure you gave, and the document that was already uploaded with your form.
If it turns out we misread a document or mistyped a number, the score is corrected and both lists are redrawn from the corrected score.
Offers have already gone out by then, so a correction that moves you above the line seats you from the reserve. Nobody is asked to hand a place back for you to be treated correctly, and you are not made to wait for the next session either.
What the window is not
- Not an appeal against the rubric. The bands were published before anyone applied and they do not move for one applicant
- Not a chance to add a document you did not upload with your form
- Not a place to explain your situation again. The written statement in your form already did that
- Not a way to change an answer you now wish you had given differently
If something at home genuinely changed after you submitted, that belongs in next session's form, and it is worth putting there.

A no from us is not the end of the routes open to you.
