Four things we have under way.

Six houses do not solve student housing at Universiti Malaya and we are not going to pretend otherwise. This page lists what JKRKS is actually working on besides allocating the beds, with the current state of each written plainly. Nothing is listed here as done when it is not.

The rubric, published before applications open

What it is. The full selection rubric, all six criteria and every band, on a public page with a version number and a publication date, plus a calculator that lets anyone work out their own score before they apply and check it against the one we give them afterwards.

Who it is for. Anyone who applies. It is also for the next committee, who inherit a written rule instead of whatever the last three people remembered.

Where it stands. Live. It could not create a single extra bed this session, so we started with the part we could fix, which was making the decision open and checkable. That is a smaller thing than the problem and we know it.

Section 16 Off-Campus Living Standards Advisory Council

Work on the standard of off campus housing in Seksyen 16, where most UM students renting privately in this area end up. Named here because it is real work in progress. Its scope and who it answers to are not settled enough to publish, and this page will not describe it until they are.

Why three of these say so little

Because we would rather publish a name and an honest gap than a paragraph that sounds like progress. Every entry on this page gets its detail when there is a confirmed status to print, and not before. If you want to know where one of them has got to, ask JKRKS through Kesatuan Mahasiswa Universiti Malaya rather than reading between the lines here.

The shortage is bigger than the six houses.

If you did not get a bed here, that is not the end of the routes available to you. Some of them have nothing to do with RKS.
