What happens to what you type

Nothing is stored. The two numbers are used once, to unlock your own record, and are not written to any log or database. The results file on the server is encrypted record by record, and the key to each record is that person's own matric number and identity card number, so nobody holding the file can read a single line of it without knowing both numbers for the person they are looking for.

If the two numbers do not open anything we do not say which one is wrong, and we do not say whether a matric number applied at all. That is deliberate. It means this page cannot be used to find out whether somebody else applied.

Before you check

There are 50 places this session, 25 for women and 25 for men, and the two lists are ranked separately. Far more people applied than there are beds, so most applicants will not be offered one. That is arithmetic, not a judgement on anybody's situation.

Whatever your result says, you will see the whole working: your total, each of the six criterion marks, and the band you landed in. The distribution of marks on both lists and both cut off marks are published on the statistics page, so you can see where your total sits without anyone having to tell you.
